The Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef is the traditional homeland of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people. You will get to experience traditional coastal survival techniques and learn about the connection the Aboriginal people have through contemporary art styles.
At Cooya Beach Traditional Owners will take you for a hands on experience where you will be taught how to throw a spear and collect a variety of food and medicine amongst the ever –changing mudflats and tidal lagoons.
Enjoy lunch which includes freshly gathered food before taking a short drive to Janbal Aboriginal Art Gallery to meet with local artist to discover contemporary Aboriginal art styles. Create your own art piece to keep as a lasting memory of the experience.
